News Charts
From Stock Spy
NewsCharts is a unique system which translates news stories onto a stock price chart. This enables new insights into reasons behind price trends based on changes in news volume over time. It is possible to chart the change in buzz related to a stock using NewsCharts.
NewsCharts can take news input from multiple RSS feeds and instantly generate an interactive chart which is color coded by news feed source. For example feeds from Yahoo! Finance can appear in red while MSN MoneyCentral feeds appear in blue.
The interactivity of the stock charts make it easy to drill down into the data which catches your interest. You can hover each trading day to see the exact news volume for that day. You can select a range of days on the chart with your mouse to see a listing of those stories with the news panel.
One of the great things about Stock Spy is how the news list is dynamically connected with the stock chart. So when you hover a news article in the news listings the chart marker moves to highlight the trading day on which the news occurred. This allows you to determine the effect of specific news stories on the price of the stock.
